MGF-Nordsee
We are a BMBF-funded joint project in which five partner institutes are working together to record and describe the effects of the MGF exclusion in marine protected areas at the ecosystem level.
Research topics
Our project is divided into six work packages (WPs), which deal with different key topics. Results are continuously exchanged between the WPs in order to obtain an overall picture of the ecosystems and MGF exclusion effects. In the field, data is collected on sediment composition in the Natura 2000 areas, biotic communities and material turnover rates. These data then form the basis for modeling approaches.
